Rolling Admission for Bachelor’s studies

Centria’s Rolling Admission is a flexible application process that allows you to apply directly to a Bachelor’s degree programme using SAT score-based selection or certificate-based selection. The Rolling Application is open until May 31, 2026!

The Rolling Admission application period for degree programmes conducted in English for applicants who in their past have completed the SAT tests (new version taken after March 2016) or have acceptable certificates, will be arranged between From December 1, 2025 till May 31, 2026. The application process takes place at Studyinfo.fi when the application period is ongoing. For applicants who are accepted in this application round, the studies are set to begin in September 2026

This application round works on a basis of a rolling admission; eligible students will be accepted already during the application round, on the first-come first-serve basis until all available places are filled. Applicants can be admitted if they submit a valid application, attach required documents and meet eligibility requirements. When applying in certificate-based selection, applicants are also required to pass an online interview.

Only applications with the required attachments and paid application fees (if required) will be checked and can be considered. Study places are filled in order so it is important to pay the application fee as soon as possible.

Degree programmes included in the Rolling Admission

Certificate-based selection

When applying in the certificate-based selection one applicant can apply and be admitted to ONE programme. Once all study places in the programme have been filled, applying to the programme is no longer possible. Kindly note that applications are reviewed continuously, and any application missing the required attachments will be rejected.

You are eligible to apply in the certificate-based selection if you have a qualification that provides eligibility for higher education studies from EU/EEA-area, Morocco, Tunisia, Algeria, Egypt, Turkey, Nepal, India, Vietnam, Indonesia and the Philippines and have acceptable grades. We accept upper/ higher secondary level education and A-level education. Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees and vocational qualifications are not considered in the certificate-based selection.

Finnish applicants are required to have grades for Finnish matriculation examination.

If you are graduating in spring/summer 2026 you are conditionally eligible and are required to submit the latest certificate of graduation and latest transcript with grades during the application period. More information can be found under Required attachments.

To be eligible to apply, you must submit both a certificate and a transcript that include:

  • A clearly stated grade in English (only advanced-level studies are accepted), comparable to a US grade B.
  • An overall GPA also comparable to a US grade B.
  • Only advanced-level studies in English are accepted.
  • In most cases US grade B is equivalent to 60 per cent of the maximum grade.
  • You can use Scholaro to compare your grades.

If your transcript does not clearly indicate the English grade (e.g., it only shows a grade for a foreign language subject), please provide an additional document from your school confirming that the grade refers to English.

If the level of your English studies is not clearly stated on your transcript, you must also submit a document from your school specifying the level of your English studies.

If your GPA is not explicitly stated on your certificate or transcript, it will be calculated based on the grades listed in your certificate.

Transcript of records or an academic transcript should include: the name of the person to whom the transcript has been issued, full titles of units that the student has completed for the degree, grades, the grading scale as well as date of issue.

The applicant is obligated to provide a certificate that is comparable to the educational certificates provided currently by the education system in their home country.

Lowest accepted average: average equivalent to grade 3 “good” on Centria grading scale (1-5). The requirement equals to grade C on the European Credit Transfer System and grade B on the United States grading scale:

Every application is evaluated individually as the grading systems vary by country.

The applicant must include the following attachments to the application form:

  • Copy of the qualification that provides eligibility for higher education studies from EU/EEA-area, Morocco, Tunisia, Algeria, Egypt, Turkey, Nepal, India, Vietnam, Indonesia or the Philippines. We accept upper/ higher secondary level education and A-level education. Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees and vocational qualifications are not considered in the certificate-based selection. Please note that a temporary or provisional degree certificate is accepted if it was awarded no more than one year earlier. 
    • Transcript of records or an academic transcript should include: the name of the person to whom the transcript has been issued, full titles of units that the student has completed for the degree, grades, the grading scale as well as date of issue. 
    • Those graduating in spring/summer 2026 are also conditionally eligible and are required to submit the latest certificate of graduation and latest transcript with grades during the application period. The certificate should state that the student will graduate during the spring semester and include the graduation date. The applicant should deliver the final certificate by 9th of July 2026 15:00 Finnish time (if the certificate is given in another language than in English, you should also have it translated).
    • If the applicant is unable to obtain their final diploma by the deadline (9th of July 15:00 Finnish time) due to delays from the issuing institution, they must request a document from their school confirming their graduation, with graduation date and final grades.
  • Authorized translation of the educational documents if the originals are not issued in Finnish, Swedish or English. The translation must have the translator’s signature and stamp.
  • A proof of English language proficiency We use the same requirements as in the joint application. You can find the list of accepted documents here.
  • Copy of passport or EU/EEA ID card: All applicants must upload a copy of passport/official identification card to their application form to confirm the identity in the online interview. Only the following documents are accepted as proof of identity: passport, Finnish identity card with a photo, issued by police, Finnish driver’s licence or another EU/EEA country identity card with a photo. Also, an expired passport or identity card is accepted if its validity is expired on 1.12.2024 the latest. 
  • Copy of residence permit. Starting from 1 Jan 2025, applicants from outside the EU, EEA or Switzerland are required to pay an application fee in order to apply to higher education studies. If you are from outside the aforementioned area and you are applying to studies in Finland, you will need to pay the application fee. Here you can find out if you are required to pay the application fee.

The deadline for submitting the application is 31th of May 2026 at 15:00 Finnish time (UTC/GMT+2).

Finnish applicants are required to have grades for Finnish matriculation examination.

If you do not have your Migration Certificate anymore, then upload a letter from the Board that you have been given it. No Objection Letters are not accepted.

Certificate must be obtained by completing State Examination (Valstybinis brandos egzaminas).

Poland

Polish Maturity Certificate (Świadectwo dojrzałości). Certificate must be obtained by completing the Matura Examination (Egzamin maturalny). 

English: Extended Level or Bilingual Level: 60% or higher

Mathematics: 60% or higher. In advanced mathematics a passing grade is accepted.

Updates are made during the fall 2026.

Only eligible applicants (applicants who have submitted all the required documents at the time of when their application is processed AND have paid the application fee, if required) will be invited to take part in an online group interview via Zoom. The interview will test the applicant’s motivation, aptitude for higher education studies and English language skills. The interview will be evaluated on a scale of pass or fail. 

If you do not arrive or fail the interview, you cannot apply to another programme and get accepted. 

Eligible applicants will be invited to the interview in the order of applications submitted. Centria will send invitations and instructions to the interview via email approximately 1,5 weeks before the interview slot. Please remember to check your junk mail in case the invite has gone there.  

The interview time given cannot be changed or rescheduled. 

Identification

Before you attend the interview, you will need to confirm your identity with the same document as you have submitted with your application. 

Acceptable forms of identification include the following valid documents: 

  • passport 
  • Finnish identity card with a photo, issued by police 
  • Finnish driver’s licence 
  • another EU/EEA country identity card with a photo 

Also, an expired passport or identity card is accepted if its validity is expired on 1.12.2024 the latest. 

Instructions

The applicant is required to attend the interview alone without any assistance from others during the interview. Make sure that you have a quiet environment and optimal lighting for clear sound and video picture. The background must remain unfiltered or unblurred.  

The UAS is not responsible or in any legal liability if your equipment and/or connections do not meet the criteria, and the interview is interrupted, or you cannot finish it because of this.  

The interviewers have right to remove you from the group interview if you are not recognized as the same person as in your identification document and application or if you have not followed the instructions given to you.

The applicants who satisfy all the admission criteria will be accepted in the order that they have submitted their complete application and passed the interview. If the applicant passes the interview, they will be offered a study place within a week of the interview.

An application is considered complete when Centria UAS has received the application in Studyinfo and all required documents. If you are required to pay the application fee, your application is considered only after the fee has been paid.

The admission process is based on rolling admission and the number of study places is limited. Once the study places have been filled, new applicants cannot be accepted to study. 

Applications will be rejected if any of the required attachments are missing at the time of processing. No prior warning will be given to the applicant on when their application is processed.

Admitted students will be offered a 10 % discount on their tuition fee when they accept the offered study place and pay the tuition fee within two weeks of student selection notification.

Applying with SAT scores

When applying with SAT scores one applicant can apply only for ONE programme. Only one application from an applicant will be taken into consideration. Once all study places in the programme have been filled, applying to the programme is no longer possible.

Applicants can apply for all Bachelor programmes except the Nursing programme with the SAT results.

SAT-scores must be delivered between December 1, 2025 till May 31, 2026. Only applications and SAT scores which have been delivered during the application period are valid.

For this specific direct application round, the following education give applicants eligibility to apply for Bachelor´s programmes in the SAT application:

  • the studies required for graduating from the Finnish upper secondary school or a Matriculation Examination
  • International Baccalaureate (IB) degree;
  • Reifeprüfung or Deutsche Internationale Abitur (DIA) degree completed outside Finland
  • European Baccalaureate (EB) Diploma
  • a Finnish vocational upper secondary qualification covering 120 credits or 180 competence points or a corresponding earlier Finnish vocational degree covering at least 80 credits;
  • a Finnish post-secondary or higher vocational level diploma;
  • a Finnish vocational upper secondary qualification or a further or specialist vocational qualification as a competence-based qualification, or a comparable previous qualification;
  • a foreign qualification that provides eligibility for higher education studies in the country in question
  • Bachelor´s degree and Master´s degree

Centria University of Applied Sciences uses discretionary admission, which means that the applicant could be considered eligible even if he/she did not meet the general admission criteria. Discretion may come into question in the following situation:

If the applicant is a refugee or in a refugee-like situation and formerly obtained qualifications cannot be proven through documentary evidence, Centria can excuse the applicant and he or she can proceed in the application process. In this case, an applicant must prove the refugee status by a decision made by a competent authority and send a copy of the decision (a decision on asylum or a residence permit granted by a need for protection) to the Admissions office by a set date.

The applicant’s (who are not a citizen of an EU/EEA country) final certificate will not be available by the end of the application period, and therefore a photocopy of it cannot be sent by a set date. The applicant can further proceed in the application process if he or she can provide an official temporary certificate or statement of results which is given by the organization awarding degrees (for example in Nigeria or Ghana an official statement of results sent to Centria directly from WAEC or NECO or in Kenya statement of results sent directly from the KNEC). The certificate should also state the scope of the degree and estimated date of graduation.

Required documents of eligibility

Applicants can apply for all Bachelor programmes except the Nursing programme with the SAT results. Only results from the new SAT test (taken after March 2016) are acceptable.

Centria’s designated SAT code is 7819.

Centria UAS requires applicants to score a minimum of 500 points from evidence-based reading and writing and a minimum of 500 points from Mathematics. Essay results are not required.

Score reports should be ordered electronically by applicants directly from the test center and need to be delivered to Centria UAS. Reports printed or sent by the applicant him/herself are not acceptable.

SAT-scores must be delivered between 1 December 2025 – 31 May 2026. Only applications and SAT scores which have been delivered during the application period are valid.

Centria reserves the right to evaluate the applicants English language skills by an interview.

General instructions in rolling admission

Filling the application

Applicants start the application process by filling an online application form during the application period at Studyinfo.fi. The application is publicly accessible to everyone via the internet, and the admission process follows predefined admissions criteria. Therefore, no stakeholders outside the institution can have influence over the selection process itself.  When filling the application form, applicants are advised to double-check if the given postal address is up to date and the given email address is functional.

A functional email address is particularly important in order to be able to be contacted later on with decisions and further guidelines. The email address provided in the application form will be taken as the official channel of communication and will not be changed later in the process. Once the application has successfully been registered, including a copy of the education certificate, applicants receive an application number. If an application number is received, applicants do not have to contact Centria´s Admissions office to confirm that the application has arrived.

The deadline for filling in the application and submitting it is 31 May 2026, 3 pm Finnish time. After submitting the application, applicants can still make changes to the application until the end of the application period. After that, it is still possible to attach documents to the application, but no other changes are possible. The deadline for submitting attachments is 7 June 2026, 3 pm Finnish time.

Application fees

Starting from 1 Jan 2025, applicants from outside the EU, EEA or Switzerland are required to pay an application fee in order to apply to higher education studies.

If you are from outside the aforementioned area and you are applying to studies in Finland, you will need to pay the application fee.

The application fee is 100 euros. You are going to receive a payment link to your email address after submitting your application at Studyinfo.fi. You can pay the application fee with the following global payment methods:

In addition to these, you can pay the application fee with Finnish bank payment methods (given that you have access to these methods).

The application fee does not guarantee that you will be offered admission to studies.

Admission results

All accepted applicants will be informed about their admission by first-come first-serve basis by e-mail. Acceptance letters will be sent already during the application period. It is essential to apply with a valid email address so the results are will reach the applicants. After being admitted, in order to be able to start their studies, applicants still have to accept the study place by logging into Studyinfo.fi and accepting the offered study place. The deadline for accepting the offered study place is 9 July 2026, 3 pm Finnish time. If applicants have problems using the Internet and accessing the Studyinfo.fi, a pdf form can be provided by the Admissions office. By accepting the study place, applicants also register themselves as a present for the first academic year. If applicants wish to register as absent, they have to check the Enrolment section of Centria´s website to see if they are eligible to apply for such status and consult it further with the Admissions office.

In case an applicant believes a mistake has been made in student selection, they may file a claim for adjustment after the publication of the student selection results.

Claims for adjustment have to be filed within 14 days after the publication of results. Appeal based on personal circumstances will not be considered as valid reason for appeal. Student admission decision can be changed only in those cases where it is clearly shown that the UAS has not followed the student admission criteria. Therefore, the claim of adjustment must be well-grounded and it should contain accurate information on where the UAS has not followed the criteria.

Tuition fee payment

Please notice that some applicants are obligated to pay tuition fees. If you are not an EU/EEA- citizen or if you do not have a document that exempts you from paying the tuition fees, you are obliged to pay them.

Please note that Centria UAS uses Flywire to accept payments from international students worldwide. This is the only accepted way to pay the tuition fee. Centria does not approach students with any other payment methods. Please only use the payment link provided in the conditional offer letter.
