Activities of the research group

At Centria, research and innovation in health and wellness technology are based on multidisciplinary expertise, open innovation activities, co-creation, living lab and test bed operating models. We focus on close co-operation between companies developing technology, social welfare and health care service providers, third-sector actors, as well as teaching and research units. 

With the help of our experts in the social and health care sector, and technical and commercial fields, parties developing health technology receive support from brainstorming to commercialisation at different stages of the innovation process. With us, you can also familiarise yourself with the latest technology utilising digitalisation, robotics, artificial intelligence and automation in the care sector. Our mobile health lab equipment includes technology to support independent and safe living, eHealth and personalized health devices, rehabilitation technology, technology for maintaining functional capacity and wellness, and for assisting in care. 

Networks

We are involved in the networks for age technology (Ikäteknologiaverkosto), Ikääntyvän Suomen Ongelmat (ISOt) (challenges of the aging population), Digitaalisen terveyden ja hyvinvoinnin AMK (UAS digital health and wellbeing) and Hyteairo networks, the Finnish Network of Living Labs (FNLL, innovation partner in European Network of Living Labs ENoLL), and the Product Developer’s Test and Support Network TUTTUnet.
